This purpose of this case study project was to explore concepts of mass communication and society, specifically a media issue or concept. In an era where social media plays a significant role in many peoples lives, I chose to examine the power of the parasocial relationship.

Through this exploration I offer insight into why this issue is important to understand, the core concept that underlines the issue and potential action that can be taken related to this issue.

Parasocial Relationship |  one-sided relationships, where one person extends emotional energy, interest and time, and the other party, the persona, is completely unaware of the other's existence.
